THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY IS MY ?

I heard my old boss Roger Grimes on VOCM earlier today railing against the Premier and ABC. He expressed legitimate criticism about the possible vacuum, should the campaign succeed and the province is left without a Conservative MP and with a Conservative government in Ottawa.

I feel like I am in some kind of twilight zone episode. The former Liberal premier is saying what exactly? Is he saying we should send at least one Conservative to Ottawa. Let's see perhaps Scott Simms might be convinced that he is young enough to have another go at it later? Todd Russell should put his desire to be re-elected behind the importance of getting a Conservative member in place for Labrador to ensure the base in Goose Bay is protected and funding comes across for the Metis. What about Judy Foote, perhaps she can withdraw and let Herb Davis have it or Gerry Byrne can put country ahead of his own ambition. We need to have a Conservative, we need to have someone on the government side. It is a ludicrous suggestion.

If there was no federal/provincial acrimony and the Provincial Progressive Conservatives were out in the hustings backing Tories, would Liberals not be out trying to win all seven seats? Would Conservatives and the NDP be out trying to win all seven seats? I have never heard partisans at election time say, let's not win them all.

ABC is not Danny Williams, it is the will of the majority of the people who want to repay Harper for his treachery. They have looked at the Conservative record in Newfoundland and Labrador and found it lacking. They want to hold the Conservatives accountable for their record. Is that not what elections are about.

Whats wrong with that?

Minister Cochrane sounds a lot better to me than Minister Manning.
