My youngest is five today. Conor Padraic Pearse started kindergarten last week and is growing up much too fast for my liking. Thomas and the Wiggles are no longer cool. The Clone Wars and Transformers rule the day.
My mom found a way to mix learning with the force. She gave Conor Star Wars: The Clone Wars for his birthday. . He gets to steer his Starfighter through battle by using mathematics skills to blast enemy ships. Solve time-telling questions to help R2-D2 unlock doors and move the team through. Use his mathematics skills to decrease his enemy's power in an exciting light saber duels and the game teaches numbers, sequencing, addition, subtraction, telling time and daily routines. Not bad for a video game.
Conor has been weaned on Leapster educational games which are a great way to keep kids engaged in learning and gaming at the same time.
If your kids are Star Wars fans, this is a great program and a great system.
Hey Peter,
ReplyDeleteMy oldest boy will be nine next month. Something very weird happened over the summer. In June is was OK for me to hug him when I picked him up from school.... not so now....
Funny how that happens. They grow up waaaaay to fast.
Hope Conor had a good BD.
