WESTCOTT FOR THE RECORD

Craig Westcott is in hot water with the Conservative Party and has had to quickly backpedal on a long string of attacks he has made on Prime Minister Stephen Harper, of whom he referred to as a “control freak” surrounded by “toadies.”

“I think Stephen Harper and Danny Williams are really twins who are separated at birth ... they're both control freaks”

“Both of them hate the media. Harper even had the press evicted from a hotel in P.E.I. where his Conservative caucus was meeting. As someone remarked to me afterwards, ‘that's Communism, isn't it?'”

“Both men, too, like to surround themselves with toadies who compete to stroke their massive egos.”
(CBC Radio, August 2007)

“He has reneged on that promise and (Premier Danny) Williams has the evidence of the lie clasped firmly in his fist,”
(The Business Post, March 26, 2007)

I do not understand why he is running. If hope it is not all enemy of my enemy is my friend stuff because these Conservatives are no ones friends. Considering the scathing editorials about Premier Williams why would he put his name on a ballot to run under the leadership of Stephen Harper when he feels that Harper and Williams are so much alike?. Go figure because I do not get it.

  1. Westcott was on the CBC news tonite stating that Williams was running the abc campaign soley on his hatred for Harper. Funny ..he could have easily been describing his own reasons for running for the Conservatives-his hatred of Williams
