The selection of routes has led to more than one fracas.
Statistics Canada data indicates that more and more people are taking to bikes to get to work. I like to walk to work and occasionally ride my bike. Although riding a bike in St. John's is a riskier venture than I am interested in taking during rush hour.

Germany recently opened the first three-mile stretch of a bicycle highway that will eventually span over 62 miles. This highway is an entirely separate roadway that will remain completely car-free.
In a study completed by regional development group RVR, it's projected to take 50,000 cars off the road each day!
Surely we can do better to tip the scales towards more friendly, healthy, safe alternatives for transportation.
