THE TRINITY IS WISHFUL THINKING

According to the province's premier political reporter, rumors of a Loyola Sullivan and Tom Rideout running for the Federal Conservatives are just rumors and wishful thinking.

On the local St. John's Morning Show, David Cochrane the dean of the legislative press gallery said he had been talking to Sullivan's wife who is preparing for a holiday next week that does not include an all inclusive walking tour of St. John's South - Mount Pearl! He also indicated that his provincial sources indicate Tom Rideout is not in either.

He confirmed that the Premier's ABC Campaign is having a devastating effect on the Conservatives ability to recruit candidates and workers in the normally Conservative strongholds in St. John's. The Harper organization can not find a profile candidate and are now scrambling to put a name on the ballot. P&P has blogged about a number of potential candidates that have declined leaving the St. John's seats fairly barren for the Conservatives on the eve of the election call.

The Conservatives can kiss the three ridings they currently hold good-bye. The lack of a competitive candidate in either St. John's seat just means more energy and focus on defeating Fabian Manning.
