NL DOCTORS COULD TAKE JOB ACTION

"I think if this deal is rejected it would give
a very strong message back to government
that we are unable to come to an agreement
and at that point then we would look at further
action, which will include things like job action,"
Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association
President Dr. Patrick O'Shea

If the provincial government hopes to come out of this without lasting damage, the first thing they (he!) should do is send Jerome Kennedy on a lengthy fact-finding mission somewhere deep in Siberia. Dr. Pat O'Shea has presented his members, and the facts of their case, with admirable calm, reason and professionalism, IMHO. Jerome Kennedy, on the other hand, comes off like an arrogant, volatile bully. He is not a successful Minister because so many people see him as, well, an irate prick.
